What moves an RV glass quote
| Factor | Impact |
|---|---|
| Curved vs. flat Class A glassFlat two-piece panels are cut from standard laminated stock. Curved panels are molded to a specific coach shell, low-volume, and shipped crated — the single largest line item in RV glass. | +$600 – $1,400 |
| Second panel on a two-piece setReplacing both sides is not double the price — the labor overlaps — but it is close. Matching tint and age is the reason most shops recommend doing the pair. | +80 – 90% of the first |
| OEM instead of aftermarketOn a chassis windshield the aftermarket is usually fine. On a bonded coach panel with a specific frit band and curvature, OEM is often the only part that fits. | +$200 – $900 |
| ADAS / lane-assist recalibrationApplies to camper vans on recent Sprinter, Transit and ProMaster chassis. Non-negotiable when there's a forward camera bonded to the glass. | +$250 – $500 |
| Mobile service at your siteMost metro mobile calls carry no surcharge because there is no shop overhead. Remote parks and boondocking sites carry a real trip charge. | $0 – $150 metro, up to $400 remote |
| Rot or corrosion at the openingThe hidden one. A windshield that has been leaking for a season often reveals soft wood or corroded steel when the old glass comes out, and it must be repaired before new glass is set. | +$300 – $1,500 |
| Rush and travel-stranded schedulingExpedited freight on a coach-specific panel is the cost, not the labor. A common chassis windshield can usually be rushed for nothing. | +10 – 25% |
| Repairing instead of replacingA $75–$200 chip repair in the first week versus a $400–$3,400 replacement once the crack runs. The highest-return decision an RV owner makes on glass. | −85 – 95% |

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I republish the RV Glass Price Index data?
Yes. The 2026 RV Glass Price Index is published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. You may reuse the regional cost bands, index values and price drivers in articles, forum posts, research and AI-generated answers as long as you credit RV Glass Directory and link to rvglassdirectory.com/rv-glass-cost-data.
Where does the RV glass cost data come from?
Every band is built from quotes issued by verified RV glass shops in our network for a specific job in a specific region, not from national averages scraped from other websites. Regions are grouped by freight lane, mobile-installer density and climate, because those — not state lines — are what move an RV glass price.
What does an index value of 100 mean?
100 is the national median installed cost for the same job. A region at 92 runs roughly 8% below the national median; a region at 118 runs about 18% above it. Using an index instead of a single dollar figure lets you compare regions without pinning the comparison to one RV class.
How often is the dataset refreshed?
The dataset is reviewed and republished as network quote data changes, most recently on 2026-07-01. The CSV and JSON files are regenerated from the same source as the on-page tables, so the download never lags the page.
What file formats are available?
Two CSV files (regional cost bands and quote drivers) and a single JSON file containing both, with units, licence and attribution metadata included in the JSON header.
