Why Ontario is hard on RV glass

Ontario runs the worst combination in the country for RV glass: heavy winter road salt and grit on the 400-series highways, gravel spray on northern routes, and a long freeze-thaw shoulder season that turns small chips into full cracks overnight. Cold-weather installs and adhesive cure times

Urethane adhesive has a minimum application temperature — typically 4–5°C for standard formulations, with cold-weather urethanes rated lower. Below that, cure is unreliable and the bond can fail under highway flex. In much of Canada that means a winter RV windshield replacement is done in a heated bay, inside a heated shelter, or scheduled for spring.
